BARNSLEY JOIN LAST-MINUTE RACE TO SIGN MANCHESTER UNITED STAR

It has continued to look likely that Manchester United youngster Axel Tuanzebe will leave the club on loan this summer. The young Netherlands international central defender has been told by United manager Olé Gunnar Solksjær that he has a future at the club but will have to go out on loan to get more game time and experience to continue his development – something he would not enjoy at United if he chooses to stay at Old Trafford this summer. To prove to him that they have plans for him at the club, they have offered him a new one-year contract which he is expected to sign before sealing a temporary move away from the club in the coming weeks.

Aston Villa are said to be the club that have shown the most interest in the player since it was confirmed that he will be available for a loan move and the Villans have almost reached an agreement with United to take him for the 2021-22 English Premier League season. However, Barnsley are attempting to make a last-ditch offer to Manchester United as they hope they can convince the player to join them instead.

Barnsley confirmed earlier in the summer that they would be allowing some of their fringe players to leave the club this summer and they will need to sign replacements if there are going to be any casualties. Tuanzebe is on their list of some of their most wanted players and they would be glad to secure a deal with United for the youngster as soon as possible.

Aston Villa are building a great team and have confirmed some additions already this summer following the arrival of Argentina international attacking midfielder Emiliano Buendia from Norwich City and winger Leon Bailey from German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.
