DIKE ON BARNSLEY RADAR – JOURNALIST REVEALS

Orlando City SC striker Daryl Dike is a big target for Crystal Palace ahead of the winter transfer window next year January. This is according to the report from Alan Nixon who writes for The Sun. Nixon talked about Dike and Crystal Palace via his Twitter handle. It was revealed that the Eagles are keeping tabs of Dike who spent the second half of last season on loan at Barnsley and that they could make a move for the United States national team striker when the January transfer window begins at the start of next year.

Dike was impressive for Barnsleyduring his time at the Championship club earlier this year. He played his part in getting Barnsley into the Championship playoffs last season via fifth place. Barnsley were beaten by Welsh team Swansea City in the semifinals of the playoffs.

Dike, 21, played for the Oklahoma City Energy and the Virginia Cavaliers before signing for Orlando City in the MLS (Major League Soccer) at the start of last year. He was an Orlando City player when he signed for Barnsley last season. The American international signed for Barnsley on loan shortly after the end of the MLS campaign last term.

While he was at Barnsleylast season, Dike scored nine goals in 22 appearances for the club. He thrived under manager Valerien Ismael who has since left the club to join West Brom. Dike and Ismael failed to propel the Tykes to Premier League football via the Championship playoffs thanks to Swansea City. Swansea City beat Barnsleyover two legs to book a final meeting with Brentford. In the end, Brentford seal a place in the Premier League ahead of Swansea City via a 2-0 win.

Dike has three goals and an assist in six games for Orlando City this season. For the United States team, he has three goals in eight matches.
